The Johnstown Mill Rats battled until the final out but came up short in an 18-12 loss to the Burlington Bees on May 29 at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point. Johnstown held an early 2-1 lead before Burlington used a pair of six-run innings to take control of the game. Despite facing a double-digit deficit late, the Mill Rats refused to quit, scoring six unanswered runs over the final two innings to cut the gap to six. Johnstown’s offense continued to put pressure on the Bees throughout the night, finishing with 12 runs in one of its highest-scoring performances of the season. While the comeback effort ultimately fell short, the Mill Rats showed resilience and offensive firepower as they headed into a weekend series against Kokomo.
